Conference Critical Chain 2024: Critical Chain pyramids by Etienne Lecerf

3 levels of project control: the Critical Chain pyramid by Etienne Lecerf

This presentation by Étienne discusses the three essential levels of project control and explains how each can improve workflow.

The Critical Chain method is often cited for its well-known aspects in single-project management: identifying the longest sequence of tasks, adjusting workloads, managing buffers, and using the fever chart.

However, it is important not to overlook two other levels of management:

  • Portfolio management as a whole, which structurally reduces work in progress and multitasking.
  • Micro-level management, which focuses on daily tasks, identifying obstacles, and establishing a quick and effective feedback mechanism.
